Active Day has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Shuttle Bus Driver who is bilingual in Spanish  

 

 Adult Day Health Center / 14 Passenger Bus

Our Drivers are the first and last Active Day teamamte our members interact with each day. As a Driver, you will operate and maintain mobility buses, providing safe, courteous on- and off-boarding assistance, and timely transport to and from our centers. Drivers escort members door-to-door in all weather conditions, provide transportation for field trips, take members to medical appointments, and run errands for the center.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as a shuttle bus Driver include: 

  • Ensuring members are transported safely whenever they are in your care!
  • Assisting members with on- and off-boarding and with any special needs during transport.
  • Ensuring the company vehicle is “member-ready” at all times:  sparkling clean and free from obstacles as well as in good working condition, reporting any issues promptly.  You want to make sure the vehicle carrying precious cargo is in perfect running order.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • Minimum three (3) years with a valid driver’s license as well as state/vehicle-specific driver credential.
  • This is a physical job, after all we are ACTIVE Day! As a result you will need to be able to:
    • Push, pull, bend, squat, turn, pivot, transfer and lift at least 50 pounds
    • Repeatedly exit and enter the vehicle to assist members with on- and off-boarding.
  • Prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs is helpful
  • Able to pass required physical exams including Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
  • Successful results of background check, motor vehicle report, drug testing and any other state-specific requirements.
